2009 Independent Baseball Playoffs Update

As of Sunday morning (September 6), here are the updates for the professional independent baseball leagues:

  • American Association:  Pensacola Pelicans win the South Division; Lincoln Saltdogs and Wichita Wingnuts play tonight to determine North Division winner
  • Atlantic League:  Still playing regular season
  • Can-Am League:  New Jersey Jackals play at Worcester Tornadoes (Round 1) on Wednesday, September 9.  Brockton Rox play at Quebec Capitales (Round 1) on the same night
  • Continental League:  Alexandria Aces won 2009 CBL Championship
  • Frontier League:  Best-of-5 opening round series to start Tuesday September 8.
  • Golden League:  Calgary Vipers will play in the 2009 GBL Championship starting Tuesday September 8.  They will face the winner of the St. George Roadrunners-Tucson Toros series
  • Northern League:  Gary Southshore RailCats will play in the 2009 Northern League Championship.  Opponent will be determined with tonight’s Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks-Winnipeg Goldeyes game
  • United League:  Amarillo Dillas and San Angelo Colts tied 1-1 in best of 5 ULB Championship series.  Game 3 is tonight
